Hello SASSE Readers, let’s welcome Kassanna to our SASSE World. Pull up a chair and tell me if you prefer ice cream or cake for our little chat.
Kassanna:
Cake, vanilla with that ridiculously rich icing that makes your teeth hurt
afterwards but tastes so flipping good.
SASSE:
Yum! That cake is making me drool! LOL. Tell the readers a little about
yourself. How did you get into writing? Have you always thought you would be a
romance writer?
Kassanna:
I have always written things, looks short stories, created characters as imaginary
friends. Narrated stories in my head but I ever thought I would actually become
a published author. My husband took a look at all my notebooks I the closet one
day and told me I needed to do something about my hobby. To be published and
have readers is humbling and beyond a dream come true for me.
SASSE:
What was the first romance book you ever read? What did you think? What was
your first impression of the genre?
Kassanna:
This Calder Ranch by Janet Daily. I loved that book and must have re-read it a
hundred times. I wanted to live on that ranch in that world. To read romance
and get lost in the fantasy was is much better than my reality sometimes
SASSE: Can you explain to the readers about the Pride
Riders? How did you come
up with this series?
Kassanna:
Pride Riders are a motorcycle club of big cat shifters. Transplants from
Africa, they are just trying to live like everybody else and things just keep
going wrong. I got the idea from watching a Hells Angel documentary and thought
what if they were all cats with sexy accents?
SASSE:
Are there more Pride Riders to come?
Kassanna:
Yeah, Prowl, which is Ari’s story will be net in the series. As the resident comedian
I am finding his story to be hilarious.
SASSE:
You are one of the “shifter queens of romance” with dragons, snakes, bears,
wolves…oh, my, my, my…are there any animals you can’t imagine making into a
shifter in one of your romances?
Kassanna:
Rabbits, small creatures, as Ettienne and Myka put it in Pack Rulez. If a bunny
was a shifter a predator would be conflicted, he wouldn’t know whether to eat
or screw his or her mate. I don’t want to put my characters through that kind
of trama. LOL! And thank you. I never thought of myself as one of the queens of
shifter romance. That made me giggle.
SASSE:
What gets you all choked up or emotionally charged in a story you write?
Kassanna:
When the villain get away with whatever he or she is doing wrong. I never know
how a story will turn out or who the next book will be about. In that aspect
you can call me a true pantzer so when I open up my wip I’m never quite sure
who will emerge or what they have to say. Sometimes I like it, sometimes I
don’t but it’s not my story to tell, ya know, I’m just the vessel to get it
done.
SASSE:
If you could write in any genre that you have never written in before what
would it be?
Kassanna:
A YA steampunk. I think it would be fun.
SASSE:
Thank you Kassanna, this has been just delightful to sit back with you and
learn a little more about you and your story.
Kassanna: Thanks
for having me it’s always a pleasure talking, love connecting with people.
Learn more about Kassanna!
Kassanna is a strong
believer in love at first sight and happily ever afters. After meeting her
husband in November and marrying him three months later in February the two
have survived and mostly enjoyed every adventure life has thrown their way. Ten
years, two children, a couple of dogs and a wild turkey that came out the woods
and somehow adopted them - later- the adventure continues.
Writing has always been her
passion but fate sometimes has other roads that must first be taken .
Navigating the road less traveled was not only unexpected but in the end
extremely rewarding. Her books are mainly contemporary romance but she has
delved into the paranormal and plans on expanding into other areas as the ideas
come to her. Right now she is enjoying life and seeing her work come into
fruition make it that much more pleasurable especially when her books make
others smile. Kassanna wouldn't have it any other way.
